We use the xoops fondly but have not developed herself for years

Last 2 years is waiting for XOOPS version 3.0!!

We want a version compatible with today's coding technology and design...

+1 for this

Im sure that Xoops has the same potential as e.g. Wordpress and im still using Xoops because its easy and simplicity, i really think that xoops is even better if we only match the core of both of the programs but Xoops has lack of themes (modern i mean) and some essential modules,

Sure, we don't want 1000+ modules, that is not really necessary but a standard and good maintained module pack would help xoops and her users to keep using this awesome CMS system

i have used Joomla, wordpress, drupal and other cms but XOOPS is still my favorite

its solid and secure...but true its lacking of modern theme and modules

the xoops.org module and theme gallery also need to be redesign to show the latest theme and modules available for users

btw.. XOOPS 2.59 is coming and I think for me it have some great improvement on design

And we've been waiting for some help from the community

Unfortunately, XOOPS can only go as fast as people are contributing.

It's very simple:

- you can contribute code if you're developer or theme designer

- if you're not a developer, you can help with writing the XOOPS documentation, and with Translations

- you can sponsor one of the current XOOPS developers, so they can spend more time on XOOPS (remember that we're doing it in our free time, i.e. if we have a paying client, that will help us pay our bills, it will have priority over XOOPS)

- you can hire a student or outside developer to develop a certain feature that you would like to see in XOOPS or in one of the modules, and contribute to XOOPS

We want a version compatible with today's coding technology and design...

a) coding Technology: XOOPS is compatible with the latest versions of:
- PHP 7.1.1,
- Apache 2.4.25,
- jQuery,
- HTML 5, and
- CSS 3

b) design: XOOPS is compatible with the latest version of Bootstrap and jQuery. I've tried recently with Angular 2, and it was working fine.

If we're missing something that you need, please help!
It's Open Source, so you can contribute and make it better!
