Re: "User Profile" Module Broken

I would try updating all of the modules in your system starting with the system module and working your way down. This can sometimes repair issues. Once you do this then try clearing the caches etc... And I would verify that they are clear by looking at the sessions table and the cache directories. Since you are having issues I would not assume those are being properly cleaned unless you verify them yourself.

Also make sure you clear your browser cookies and cache for your site. Sometimes things can "hang out" in the browser and you can't figure out why your site isn't updating... (Spent 2 hours trying to work out a bug one time that really was working but the browser cache kept using the old version.)

Sometimes just hitting the refresh on a page will get rid of the cached page and reload a fresh one.

Do you know why?

How did you get version 1.09 ????

Did you run Upgrade on your installation?

Something is messed up there

Yes, I ran Upgrade. :)

Where is the best place to get the latest version - the Module repository?

The latest version was included with XOOPS 2.5.6.

But again - where did you get this 1.09 version?

I downloaded the upgrade script through this site and installed it. I assumed that would come with the latest PM version. I'll delete it and try again...

Thanks,

My recommendation is always the same: if you're updating a XOOPS installation, just copy all the files from the FULL download, (except the /install folder and mainfile.php), add /upgrade, run upgrade, update your System module, and it should work.
I almost never have problems with XOOPS updates. The only issues are if I have some old module, then some deprecated errors might pop up.

I have just now twice done this:

- Uninstall PM module
- Delete PM module data from server
- Downloaded and extract the full xoops install
- Uploaded the PM module to the server

And it still shows ver. 1.09 for the PM module in the module admin page.
I don't get it....
