That's what I suspected.

Can you now do the fresh installs of XOOPS 2.5.5 and then the upgrades, so we can see if there is something wrong with the /upgrade files.

There still a possibility that it might be something wrong the French version of /upgrade files, as so far we only have reports from the French users, and nobody else from a different country reported this issue.

I just put the original "comment.php" Version 2.5.6 of this file is now running Mamba.

Excellent! I am glad that it is working now, and that we found the issues behind it.

Now hopefully Tatane will be able to narrow it down whether it was an /upgrade issue in general, or only the French version of it.

I checked the post upgrade xoopscomment table and none of these were there. When performing the call to the index.php in the upgrade folder, it just gave me a white screen, with no process complete message as I expected. The system info under admin revealed that it was version 2.5.6 however.

Negative on debug, but I could try again if it is not going to jack-knife anything. Or you could. The update folder is still there.
