installed the new beta, which i assume included the fix suggested by John

I'm still getting the problem I explained here

A dumb question but, is my problem related to the fact that I'm using the 2.5.6 beta?

I tested it with Xoops 2.5.6 RC1 and don't have any problem.
It seems your changes are not taken into account. You should see the cache or update the module in the module administration or reinstall the module after clearing the cache.

Cleared all caches

uninstalled the module

deleted the module

extracted the module you just posted with the changes

installed the module

same problem

Edit your /class/jobs_res_categories.php file and answer me what you have line 82?

Ok, I do not understand in this case. On a dedicated server it works.
Maybe a developer will be able to help you there?

line 33 from admin/groupperms.php you have:
include_once XOOPS_ROOT_PATH . "/class/xoopsform/grouppermform.php";

exact?
Ok it is maybe a problem from local server. Can you try on online server?
