Something happened during a module upgrade and now my whole system is down.

When I try to access the main page nothing is even shown...no login screen, header, footer, etc.

If I manually type in the module admin path I can get some things to be displayed but as soon as the rown for the upgraded module is to be shown, the template engine stops out putting the page.

If I change the name of module's subdirectory I get the error that the "Module file for news Not Found!"

I really don't mind of I lose all the data in this module (it's only news items that are fairly short-lived) so if there is a way I can delete the module from the back door and then completely reistall that would be fine.

Can anyone help?

Do you have a news block enabled on the index page? If so try to disable it. I had similar problems after a news module upgrade, a problem with the block template was causing this.

At this point I have tried these things ...

1) renamed the actual module directory in the modules folder
2) Disabled the module in the modules table via phpMyAdmin

But I hadn't even thought to fix the Blocks!

That at least got my system back up and running.

Thank you.

Now I'll see if I can start over from scratch.
