It's on my todo list, since I will eventually need this fixed as well. Unfortunately though, I'm not sure when I'll get the time to look at it nor that I will be able to solve it

I won't have any time to look into it till probably end of September, but even then, I don't know if I could fix it without looking at the code.

Maybe somebody else will be able to step up and help.

Thanks for your help anyway Mamba, I realise people are busy with other things.

It is frustrating, from a xoops end user point of view to see great modules with potential seemingly sitting in beta stage forever. There are loads of great xoops devs out there who are, IMO, genuises with php code. Maybe core devs could take time off from the core and get some modules, like extcal finished, bug fixed, etc and released as as stable, final versions.

Or perhaps great devs like wishcraft, could take this module under his wing and complete it.

Ive said time and time again, the xoops core is nothing without great modules to run on it, there are great modules out there but there needs to be more and these need to be stable and not beta or RC.

I totally agree, and that's why we're working on the Basic Module Pack. We're getting closer, but we need more community involvement. But I think, in comparison to last year, we're doing way better this year - more modules are being updated, and we appreciate very much all the tests and bug reports.

I am hoping that in October, we'll have the Basic Module Pack released.

I am focused right now on an Education course for XOOPS and the presentation for CodeWorks

Are the changes by Playsome uploaded to the trunk, so I can get "the latest" version from there?

Not that I am aware of.

Feel free to test these changes, and if they work, please add them to SVN.

Thanks!

as i said before there are many works should be done regarding modules because IMO we didnt have any development (or very few development if we are optimists) in xoops modules in the last 5 years.
You see we still use extgal and extcal orphaned modules and it shows we dont have any new alternative for them.
Also as i said before please reduce the number of modules in Basic Module Pack.
It is Basic so IMO one module for each subject is enough. we can release an "Advance Module Pack" or "Ultimate Module Pack" after releasing the basic.
It is very time consuming If you want to just debug and make compatible many old modules with new php, mysql, xoops core.
Adding new advance and bug free features to them is impossible in even one year because it takes very long time.

So IMO we should select One more stable with most features in each subject and try to test and debug it and finally add that to basic module pack.
eg:
- in contents: news 1.68
- in galleries: Extgal
- in calendars: Extcal
- in forums: newbb 4.3
- in polls: xoopspoll
- in FAQ: SmartFaq
- ...

we have a persian proverb that literally translated to below:
"You can not lift 2 watermelons with 1 hand (you will break both)"

I personally don't have time right now to look into it.

Could somebody else help with that?
