How to convert/upgrade news 1.1 to 1.67?

I installed the old version1.1 of the news module.
Will install the new version 1.67.
I hope I can keep old news records.
Is it possible to convert all news records from v1.1 to v1.67?
Please help.

News 1.1 is rather old... I would do the upgrade on a testserver first, to see what happens!

I read in another post you already have a site upgraded to xoops 2.5.5, did you manage to install news 1.1 on that version ?

In the past one of versions had a converter/upgrader. In this moment I don't remember the number of version (possibly 1.4x or 1.5x - it was between 2005 and 2007).
