I fixed the remaining issues that you've reported (except deprecated warnings).

Please download from SVN

This should be pretty much a Final version, unless somebody finds more issues.

When I click on the link you provided for the download it opens a page and then immediately closes. What is the full link to the download? Thank you so much.

And, I am using News now on one of my sites and whenever I edit a block such as "top news" it disappears. I made sure it was set to visible and it used to be visible until I edited it. Weird.

Why when I edit "recent news" or "top news" it all of the sudden disappears? I have it marked to be visible and it was visible before I edited it. Very odd.

What might be happening, is that when you post a new message, and you edit it right away, News sets the publishing date that is the next 10 minutes interval, e.g. you edit and save at 5:47, and News will set it for 5:50.

So check in your News admin under Post/Edit News, if it's in the top section "Automated Articles", and check the "publishing time" if it's ahead of the current time.

There is still a prolem with templates: I try to upgrade the NEWS modules but next error shows up:

Error : Smarty error: [in db:news_block_top.html line 915]: syntax error: unidentified token '#039;counter'' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 1410)

I'm glad you notice Rene, I was up to upgrade the nlxoops news module but was afraid to do it because of this issue you mention. It took me a lot of time to solve in the 1.67 RC version. I solved it by changing the news_block_top.html template by a very old one...

Please let this be solved quickly, as the top news block is used on many sites.

During the update of module, errors appear:

It can be resolved by deleting the file " news " in the file " uploads ", but another solution should be found.
