Translated the module in Swedish and everything work fine except weekdays in start page Main menu and selecting eXtCal (/modules/extcal/view_calendar-month.php)
Changing character Encoding to Western (ISO-8859-1) weekdays shows ok but not the rest of the translation.
Debugged for several days but i can't figure out whats is wrong.
Any idea what causing this?

System:
XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.5.3
PHP Version 5.3.10
mySQL Version 5.0.51a-24+lenny5-log
Server API cgi-fcgi
OS Linux

Updated to XOOPS 2.5.5 RC and ExtCal 2:37 on my test site and still have problems with Swedish characters.
Language files converted to UTF-8 without BOM.

Does not ExtCal support country-specific characters any more???

As I mentioned earlier swedish letters does not appear correct in Calendar month (modules/extcal/view_calendar-month.php)

example: m�ndag tisdag onsdag torsdag fredag l�rdag s�ndag

Is you database in UTF?

It's possible that the default is ISO, so even if you place the characters in UTF, they are being saved as ASCII/ISO.

I had it once something similar, till I converted the database to UTF and then it worked.

Thanks Mamba, I have checked the settings and it looks like this
Database character set = utf8 - UTF-8 Unicode
Database collection = utf8_swedish_ci

There must be something wrong in extCal affecting the weekday name only in the modules \ extcal \ view_calendar-month.php view.

when looking at modules\extcal\view_day.php weekdays shows ok.
