1 - Like these files :

htdocs\language\english\mail_template\commentsubmit_notify.tpl
htdocs\language\english\mail_template\default_notify.tpl
htdocs\language\english\mail_template\welcome.tpl

do we have to replace :

{SITENAME} - ({SITEURL})
webmaster
{ADMINMAIL}

with

{X_SITENAME} ({X_SITEURL})
webmaster
{X_ADMINMAIL}

in these other files? :

htdocs\language\english\mail_template\lostpass1.tpl
htdocs\language\english\mail_template\lostpass2.tpl
htdocs\language\english\mail_template\register.tpl
htdocs\language\english\mail_template\tellfriend.tpl
htdocs\modules\profile\language\english\mail_template\emailchanged.tpl

2 - Do we have to delete this line?

defined("XOOPS_ROOT_PATH") or die("Restricted access");

in

htdocs\language\english\formdhtmltextarea.php
htdocs\language\english\locale.php
htdocs\language\english\logger.php

as you did here :

htdocs\language\english\admin.php
htdocs\language\english\auth.php
htdocs\language\english\backend.php
htdocs\language\english\banners.php
htdocs\language\english\captcha.php
htdocs\language\english\countries.php
htdocs\language\english\errors.php
htdocs\language\english\findusers.php
htdocs\language\english\mail.php
htdocs\language\english\misc.php
htdocs\language\english\notification.php
htdocs\language\english\pmsg.php
htdocs\language\english\search.php
htdocs\language\english\timezone.php
htdocs\language\english\uploader.php
htdocs\language\english\user.php

I ask because some files have changed and not others.

We need more help with testing! Were anybody else able to test it?

The worst thing is when we don't hear anything back during a test phase, and all the bugs are being reported "after" we release a "Final" version.

Now is the time to test it and report and bugs or issues.

Just done an upgrade from 2.5.4. to 2.5.5
Still sratching the surface as yet.

So far the only thing i have come up with is in:
1-Publisher
2-Profile/userinfo
I get
'Database::getInstance();' is deprecated since XOOPS 2.5.4please use 'XoopsDatabaseFactory::getDatabaseConnection();' instead.

how do i get rid of that please?

That's one of you modules - it needs to be updated by the module author.

To find out which one module - if it is on your local PC, you can do a text search for 'Database::getInstance();' with something like the Inforapid Search and Replace

What about my questions? What about differences in the changes I've found a few lines before?

After I had updated my site from Xoops 2.5.4 to 2.5.5 beta and then to RC, it shows very high cpu consumption (anywhere between 66 to 100%), my site was suspended in between for this reason.

The modules I am using are:
publisher (3 clones)
extgallery
APCal
defacer
mymenus
xoopsfaq

Server details:
Apache version 2.2.22
PHP version 5.2.17
MySQL version 5.1.61-cll
Architecture i686
Operating system linux
Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail
Path to Perl /usr/bin/perl
Perl version 5.8.8
Kernel version 2.6.18-374.12.1.el5.lve0.8.54
cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)

I had similar issues, but it was related to piCal module (the one APCal is based on). The issue was a very high number of queries coming from robots, because my events were going back 1-2 years, and the robots were going through all of them.

I am curious if APCal was able to resolve it, or if it is suffering from the same.

Could you disable APCal and see if it made any difference?

Have disabled APCal will give it some time, test and revert again. Also if the problem is caused by apcal, anything that can be done to resolve it because schedules is one of the important sections of this site.
