I have tried my best and also read the forum but i just dont get it.


I wanna have my news module display on a sngle page or block a number of news items example 5 but showing the title, post plus the article image or youtube video just as it is here on xoops.org

When i do post my news and go to my site modules/news/ i see the postings like i want to but its not showing the image unless i click on the news link, when i click on the item link i get to see the image,,,, but news here on xoops.org is showing plus the images and video the same as on this site http://www.diariodeandalucia.es/

How can i do that please?

Am on XOOPS 2.5.4 and module news Version : 1.67

The easy way is to just post the images or videos in the "The Scoop" using the BBCode or HTML code.

Select your appropriate Editor in Preferences, and then use the correct buttons to insert an image or video. That's how we do on XOOPS.

You can also attach an image to a News item, but make sure that you have set the right directories in /uploads, and when you attach the image, that you also provide the name for it.

Thanks mamba for your reply, i do understand that but am dealing with administrators who cannot get that.

There has to be an easier way if a certain block can display the TEXT from a post then there is a way the template can be coded to display TEXT plus image.

I think this is the code taken from news/template/news_item.html but i dont know how to fix it in the relevant block

It just depends on where you place images when editing news. The extended block text and images only show when reading the whole article. images placed in the initial block will normally show on the news index page. It's not showing like this on your site?

I am not sure I understand what you want.

From you first message it seems like you want to add images so they are visible when you go to News. This is already default:

1) you add image to the particular News item:

Resized Image


2) You go to to /modules/news/ and you'll should see following:

Resized Image


It will show you the defined number of posts (5 is the default), the image and the Scoop from each of these News item.

Thanks guys for helping me out the answer was as posted by Mamba to add the image on SCOOP. I have done it and its working fine thanks.
