I'll continue with 4.2 and merge it with the files used for 4.06.

Same for upgrade questions, can older cbb or newbb modules be upgraded to newbb 4.2 or later? I know it's difficult after I moved the old xoops.nl forum to the nlxoops.nl forum (cbb 4.06), and still not everything is working well.

CBB and NewBB is pretty much the same. If I am not mistaken, CBB was a work of NewBB, and then was merged again into NewBB.

CBB 4.06 = NewBB 4.06.

Since the directory was "newbb", we are calling it "NewBB" so we have a name consistency there.

My understanding from Alfred is that you just copy the NewBB 4.2 files over CBB/NewBB 3.08, update it, and it should be runnig.

I have build nlxoops from scratch and restored the 3.08 database entry's... CBB (4.06) works but with some issues like blocks not working, I also had to change some database entry's... But anyway, I'll see how Alfred's module develops before I dare to upgrade

NewBB is the original Xoops forum module. It is a very old module. CBB was based on NewBB, but it has much more functionality.

There have been numerous versions of CBB released over the years and it has been the stable forum offering from Xoops for ages. Yes, the folder name is inconsistent with the module name, but I cannot see any sense in going backwards and re-naming the module NewBB again just because of that.

CBB was a milestone project for Xoops and it seems a shame to break the chain of development by re-branding it. Changing its name will be very confusing for CBB users who may be looking to upgrade in the future IMHO.

I'm using CBB 3.8 on one of my biggest portals and when I tried on local testing site to upgrade to 4.02 there were total mess. I hope we will be able to upgrade to CBB4.05 without problems.

The errors above are dated, but there are in your last release 4.2, such as the repeated declaration of the User class

I had a bad idea to upgrade cbb 3.08 to newbb 4.2
The newbb have many problem if the xoops site is in sub direcory...
Es. http://www.site.com/sub/modules/newbb

There are a problem in navigation topic.
problem with seo url rewrite...

Probable for use of the REQUEST_URI?

There is a problem whith index template.

Is not possible downgrade to 3.08?

I have resolve navigation navepag... but i think is it premature to use the 4.2
