In file XoopsEngine-Roadmap.txt I have read this:

Xoops Engine development road map in 2011

* Alpha 1 in middle February, mainly for developers to review code and write most wanted applications
* Beta 1 in early April, for end users to start testing
* RC 1 in June, reasonably stable for production development
* Final in early December, celebrating XOOPS 10's Anniversary

More details will be available soon ...

It will be followed next?

There is no Xoops Engine anymore in our plans. If you followed the August discussions and news, DJ decided go "private" with the XE code and create his "private" fork out of it.

Our current focus is on XOOPS 2.x series, with XOOPS 2.6.0 Alpha being released soon.

This will be a totally refactored Core, compliant with PHP 5.3 and 5.4 E_STRICT. All old XOOPS code as well as PHP 4 code is gone. The performance will be improved. What we'll have is a "lean and mean" XOOPS Core, that will be a foundation for all future development. You can follow the changes to XOOPS 2.6.0 Core on XOOPS SVN

After that there will be XOOPS 2.7, possibly XOOPS 2.8, and later XOOPS 3.0.

My request was to see if the mod-rewrite will be implemented in 2.6.0 or do we implement it by ourselves.

Since Xoops Engine implements it would not be necessary to do it for xoops 2.6.0 in this case. What say Mage, ForMuss and Trabis?

My understanding is that ForMuss is working on it, and the plan is to include it in XOOPS 2.6.x.

It might not be right away in 2.6.0, as that release is mainly focus on refactoring without adding any new features, in order to make sure that we have a well tested and optimized Core. Once the tests are positive, the Core Team will start adding new features.

My request seems legitimate given that all modules should readjust to the new system. As you know, when I can, work on some important modules, such as TDMCreate, and this seems a fitting announcement by workers to the core

Hello,

Solo have worked on SEO and give a simple and cool stuff for add it in XOOPS.
If I explain the main idea:
- SEO is turn on/off in preferences
- Module set the setting for SEO
- Module/XOOPS must use the same function for construct link 'example: $xoops->url()
Actually, we work on refactor core and module and after we can include this stuff in XOOPS as core.

Nicolas

2.6.0 Alpa can be without, but RC include it.
If we can we can add it in alpha release, but I can't be sure (due to time)

Another important question!

Do you think you could put the files in the future with classes like the work I did on the homepage?
