If I remember correctly, you have also made changes to your mainfile.php.

You might comment out the new additions there too.

Did you make any changes to .htaccess?

What I am curious about - why is Publisher not working?

if my friend in san diego uses chrome, she gets a blank page now

if she uses IE she gets internal Server Error

those files were deleted and the backups were restored before. so there is currently no changes to either file

for me, everything works, including publisher

i actually backed up the htaccess files and deleted them from the server. there weren't any changes there either, but i did it just in case

here on 2 computers everything works fine.

before i removed spiders i noticed the bots were online, and about 9 other users. Right now the site shows 15 users online,

because i deleted spiders it doesn't say if that's what the users are, just that they're unregistered

I've been updating all the modules in the control panel

to find out if publisher is causing the error go to
modules/publisher/include/seo_functions.php
and go to the last line and find this line
die('Unknown SEO method.');
and modify it
die('Unknown SEO method.-');

that's not the last line but i made the change

last line is die('Unknown SEO operation.');

die('Unknown SEO method.'); is about 10 lines above it
