Getting rid of the double <BR> between posts in CBB 3.08

How can I get rid of the double <BR> between posts in CBB 3.08? I've tried editing the viewtopic_flat.html, and experimented with all the <br /> lines, deleting them one at a time, updating the module afterwords, and nothing seems to be working. I have no clue whats creating the double <br> between each post in flat mode. Its pretty annoying to have a gap that big.

PLZ help! :)
