Hi, as many XOOPS sites also use a FB page to spread their site's message, I thought it would be a good idea to share some tips on how to improve your FB page...

Static FBML
By using static FBML app. you can add custom html as your landing page for visitors. Example on XOOPS Nordic's page

All you have to do is like this app: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=4949752878 , select your page, and you are good to go :)

After making your FBML page cool, make the tab your 'Default Landing Tab for Everyone Else'... :)

Note! For pages only, not for groups!

RSS

To get RSS from your site to your FB page, go to edit page, --> edit notes and look at the notes settings:

Notes Settings

* You are not importing notes from an external blog.
Import a blog ยป

Click import a blog and enter your rss feed... (example: http://yoursite.com/backend.php )

Tnx. I'm using it more than 3 years. But, there is a question: Why there is no Fan page or Like buttons on Xoops.org? :)

XOOPS have a page on FB :)

Please, everybody on FB should join!! (Like)... :)

I'm a fan :) That's no probllem. :)

I just say that it should be on the front page of Xoops.org, a widget. :) Also like button in the news. :)

bjuti, I could not agree more... Already Facebook have more traffic than Google, so we should absolutely go with the flow... :)

More than 400.000.000 users already and their goal for next few years is 1.000.000.000 users... A lot of potential XOOPS developers, module and theme developers in there... ;)

Thats the point! :)

Also, becoming a fan or sharing Xoops news and articles we could have more precise statistics of users who use or planning to use Xoops. :)

Lucky for us, the implementation of Fan box is easy, and also the like button. :)

Another thing we can all do is to use the invite button on the page and invite all our friends... many will sign up not even looking at the page of course, but there are help in those too... They will now and than produce a little free ad for xoops for their friends, you know, 2 friends like this, Like... and who knows what could happen... ;)
