Please look at the html source code to see if the theme is using it's own version of jQuery or if it is loading it from Frameworks folder. If it is loading from Frameworks folder then it should not be a reason for conflicts.
If you could point out any javascript error it would be nice.
browse.php is on the root folder.
jquery.js is in xoops_lib/Frameworks/jquery/
