News module no. of characters limit?

I'm using a News module, and I've posted text, splitted in 9 pages. Then I started to add some photos and noticed that one whole page is missing. It breaked.

I'm using utf-8 and cyrilic. The same post without photos is ok. Is this maybe a XOOPS issue?

It's not news module issue. I tried content module, with tiny mce and ckeditor and it's the same.

The text contains about 31500 chars and it's ok when I paste it. Adding about 45 photos with it's definitions and elements, I suppose that it breaks in ~30000 chars.

Any idea?

I've found what seems to be the problem.

In phpMyAdmin field bodytext is TEXT. Sin'ce the cyrillc is multibyte my 30000+ is more than 65000 what's the limit of that field. MEDIUMTEXT is limit 16 milion bytes.

Joomla have MEDIUMTEXT fields, why is TEXT in Xoops?

TEXT - maximum 65536 bytes
MEDIUMTEXT - maximum 16777216 bytes
LONGTEXT - maximum 4294967296 bytes

Yup :)

And.. may I change it in phpMyAdmin without any consequence?

I've change it to MEDIUMTEXT and all seems to run ok. Now my text isn't cropped.

My advise to module developers and XOOPS developers to think about this issue.
