1) In the future we'll include only 1 WYSIWYG editor.

2) We are providing "update" packages, that provide only files that have been changed, and since Editor files normally don't change in our updates, the Editors have no impact on subsequent updates.

What about this editors? They are small and easy to use.

There is more:

class/calendar/JSCal2/language
remove french.php

Also there is some demo page in it, i dunno is it vital for xoops.

class/calendar/JSCal2/JSCal2/css

There are few themes in it, we don't need all of them

class/calendar/JSCal2/JSCal2/js/lang

Delete all but en.js

class/mail/phpmailer/language/

Delete all but phpmailer.lang-en.php and index.html

class/xoopseditor/ckeditor/ckfinder/core/connector/php/lang/

Delete all but en.php and index.html

class/xoopseditor/ckeditor/ckfinder/core/help/

Delete all dirs but 'en'

class/xoopseditor/tinymce/jscripts/themes/simple/langs/

Delete all but en.js and index.html

class/xoopseditor/tinymce/jscripts/themes/advanced/langs/

Delete all but en.js, en_dlg.js and index.html

That's all for now. Think about it!

I told you 3 posts ago why we can't do that, i gave a doable solution 2 posts ago :) , alternatively 1 wysiwyg can be chosen as part of core default install

Are you saying the OS detects what js it should use? I though it was up to php to assign the js to the header (based on the language settings of XOOPS). Are editors getting the languages from the browser? I'm confused.

@ aph3x

It is not the install (yes or no) discussion, because for your option all the editors are still uploaded.
The discussion is the amount of mb that comes with the standard xoopscore package.
I agree with Dylian. One standard XOOPS core editor, maby added with only one wysiwyg editor but separate the rest of the wysiwyg editors into a addon package.
At this moment a lot of ppl have several editors, and therefore many mb's on their server. Editors which they never use. Keep in mind that a lot of the users don't know how to remove these unnecessaire files and dirs.

@ Balzac,

that's what i mean...since removing the lang files if virtually impossible without modifying 3rd party editors because modifying them will make their upgrade process bit painful for core devs, ONE wysiwyg editor should be chosen and distributed in core rather 2-3 whatever the number is now

@trabis,

I had a dutch user who didn't see any of the buttons in the editors on his site, while from my end the editor was looking fine. His local language was set to nl on computer, site was default in english as was just installed and no additional files where added...we uploaded nl.js in the editor and all was fixed in an instant

As a webmaster I would prefer 0 third party editors shipped with core. I really do not use them, XOOPS editor fits my needs. It would be great if they could be delivered has modules or other plugin system where we could install/uninstall and set configuration without need of touching files.
