where do i find the " save " button
when im editing blocks ( Edit template file )? i see a " view " button at the bottom and thats it ...no save or submit

you need to clone the template set first. then you should edit the clonned template set where you'll be able to save the result. do not forget to set the clonned template set by default in the site prefs.

There is an easyer way of working with templates.

If you theme is named Default it's located in
.. / themes / default

If it's a template from the news module the templates for that module is located in
.. /modules / news / templates


Now - copy the original template from the module-directory and place it in
.. / themes / default / modules / news /

Do the edit in the file you just placed in the themes folder.
If anything goes wrong, just rename or delete the file and XOOP will use the file from the modules directory

You get it?
First XOOPS look for templates files in the theme directory.
If not exist, then it use the file from the module directory.

wow i didn't know one can do it this way. thanks anderssk! tho' imho, working with the clonned templates is a bit easier than uploading templates via ftp once and again.

That's what Runeher also said

It's a good known secret, but it makes it so mutch easyer to play with templates and if you get at white-screen just remove the template from the themefolder.

You don't even have to think about changes in the modules templates, when upgrading a module
