Comments display mode problem

Hi
In admin preferences I did set the comments default mode to Flat but the comments are displayed by default threaded.

xoops 2.3.2b
Any idea?

Are there preferences in the offending module's admin area for comments? Sounds like a conflict of settings to me.

Extgallery, no, i am afraid there is not comments mode in its prefrences.
