"Database Error" on creating a new forum catagory

When I try to create a new category for my forums on my website the next page tells me "Database Error" and redirects me back.

This doesn't happen when I create a new forum within an existing category. I'm running XOOPS 2.3.2.

I know this isn't much information to go on, but that is all XOOPS is telling me.

You my try to use phpMyAdmin to run "Repair Tables" and see if this will fix it.

Did you turn on also the debugger? If yes, does it say anything?

I tried both of your suggestions, repairing tables and turning on the debugger.

Repairing tables did nothing, and the debugger doesn't show any errors. Is it possible I can just create a category using phpmyadmin? What should I know before I potentially mess up my database

I don't know the internal database dependencies, so maybe somebody else can help you with that.

But before you do that, I would suggest to re-upload the Forums files and run update of the module.

BTW - what Forums Module are you using?

Thank you for your help mamba. I'm using CBB 3.08. I tried reuploading the files, but no dice. Can any one help me on the database side of things?
