Hello

My website is small. It is just the XOOPS system plus one module (classifieds).

I would like to rename the /modules/ folder so that URL's are more suitable to the site but I can't use rewrite on my server.

So I wonder how feasible is it to use a 'find and replace all' editor (I like dreamweaver's) to go in to each file and rename the folder by hand.

Can someone advise me would this be an insane task or do-able?

Thanks a lot

I think you will do fine with a search and replace program.
I never did it but have read somewhere from some one who have.

First rename /modules/ then /modules' then /modules"

This should do it I guess.

Thanks a lot Trabis!

Is there any way I can check which files need changing so that I don't have to open and search every single file?

I tried the MS Windows Search function but it returned so few files with the word modules in that I'm sure its not really searching them all

thanks

Try using InfoRapid Search
Support XOOPS => DONATE
Use 2.5.10 | Docs | Modules | Bugs

Wow! That's a fantastic piece of software, thanks a lot Mamba for pointing it out

And thanks again Trabis. I tried a replace for /modules at first and that screwed everything up, so I went back and did your 3 changes and it worked great

thanks guys!

Hi I just tried to do this. But there are some problems. Most of my website is ok but on admin side I can't do anything.

I cleared the cache but now when i try to enter admin, after pressing 'this is my first time to enter admin..' I just get a blank page (and no adminmenu.php is generated in my cache).

Also although I can go to the admin of my modules by typing in their address but if i try to update anything I also get the blank page.

And two of my modules don't display (just a blank page).

I've made the above changes and uploaded many times.

Sorry to be a pain but I am stuck. Can anyone help me figure what the problem is? Thanks

I am on XOOPS 2.0.18

Changes must be applied for every module you install.

Thank you very much

Turns out the problem was because I hadn't done it for the uploads folder (thought it was just full of images). That did it

Can I ask for more help?

Can I use this same method to rename modules? What search and replaces would be needed?

I tried to search and replace all files in one module, simply replacing the old name for the new one and then rename the module folder but that didn't work..(blank pages)

Can anyone advise how to do this?

Thanks a lot
