Activation Emails Not Being Received

Does anyone have any idea why new members are not receiving the activation email? We are using XOOPS 2.0.18.1

We have set the "user activation by email" in the preferences section of administration, but still they are not going out...

Any suggestions?

I read the information in following link concerning phpmyAdmin but it did not work for me...just wanted to post in event this was recommended...so still hoping

There could be different issues, e.g. your email might not work.
Did you try to check if XOOPS is able to send emails? Set in your profile an option to receive notifications via email, then subscribe to a forum thread, and then see if your will receive an email, once somebody posts something there.

I am getting nothing via emails going out...whether it is activation emails, or the general emails sent to members...Please advise...if anyone knows of any info we can read or can place something here to assist, we are open to all and it would be APPRECIATED....
