Newbb forum how to change index page???

Hi

Can anyone help me to do the following?

I'd like to put the latest posts on the index page of the newbb forum. But I only want it to be on the index page so I can't use the block because that will show on all forum pages, including posts.

So on each viewforum.php page we can see the latest posts in that forum. On the index.php page I need the same (but showing the most recent posts from all forums).

Like i said I can't use the block as it is only to appear on the index page and I've tried to use the block coding to make it happen but I'm afraid its beyond me to make it work

Can anyone help me?

I was trying all day but can't get it

I need to have the latest posts (from all forums) shown on the forum's (newbb) index page - but can't use the block

How can i code it?

you can try this hack from i-z and put the code in newbb index page template (templates/newbb_index.html)..remember to clean cache & templates_c
