Hi there

I've recently upgraded from 2.0.16 to 2.0.18

Now when I try to install a new module it doesn't show up in the Modules Admin page.

From another page I found that I can get around this by pasting in the following to the url of the modules admin page:

&op=install&module=name

By doing it this way modules can be installed manually

Except for Protector, I just can't install protector. Trying to do it manually gives a HTTP 500 - Page Can't be Displayed.

I've tried a debug but when I turn it on (in-line and pop-up) then the Modules Admin page won't display at all.

Has anyone got a clue what's going on?

Please help!

Thanks!

Can anyone help me on this?

Basically after I've uploaded a new module via ftp I can't view them in the Modules Admin area of Admin. And so I can't install them.

As mentioned below I can manually install modules - all that is excpet for Protector - which has got me worried!

By the way, my webhost say I don't need Protector, I'm on a dedicated server and they say their firewall can take care of all problems - is this true or are they unaware of the finer poits of xoops?

thanks!

Hi,

what are the versions of PHP and Protector?

You may check some of the tutorials ...
http://library.fishbreeder.net/xoopsdocs/protector-3-02.pdf
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=254269#forumpost254269

and others.

Installing modules the way you do is not very good. They o not show probably because you have uncompatible module for your XOOPS or php version. Are there any errors on modules admin page with phpdebug turned on (try both popup and inline mode)?

What modules/version do you have in you site (both installed and not installed)?
..
