Loggin to the Admin area for the first time...

Hi all, I am hoping that someone has run into this before...

I have successfully installed and now I have visited the front page of my site located at: http://learnflash-graphicsmart.com/xoops/htdocs/

When I get there and login all is well, but then I click the "Administration Menu" nav button and I am taken to "http://learnflash-graphicsmart.com/xoops/htdocs/admin.php" ...

On this page I see: "This is your first time to enter the administration section. Press the button below to proceed."

But there is no button to press here at all, just that message in a yellow area at the top of the page... noting else on the page at all.

Help please! Thanks!

Which version of XOOPS have you installed and what version of php are you running?

Have you made the /cache directory writeable?

xoops-2.3.0-alpha2 - (Wrong thing to do?)
PHP Version 4.4.7

I didn't even think to check the version... the Alpha 2 would have given me a hint.

I will try a reinstall with... xoops-2.0.18.1

If this is the correct / latest stable version?

The issue you describe is a known problem with 2.3.0Alpha2 on php4....... hence my question

Yes, the latest stable is 2.0.18.1 and it's fine with php4.

Have installed and it is working fine. Just need to learn now... Have used Joomla alot in the past and installing templates / adding modules was pretty easy.

I am hoping that I find this system friendly.
