xoops version 2.0.16

Hi all,

I'm trying to upgrade the old or install a new system admin module.

My current version is 1.02, and I have 2.13 to install. However, the system won't let me deactivate the existing system module, and although I installed the newer version via ftp, I can't install it in my modules admin area, as it tells me that 'system' module already exists.

Please advise. TIA :)

The 2.0.x branch uses (as you say) v1.02. I have never heard of anyone trying to do what you describe

Where did you get this "v2.13" and where did you get the advice that such an "upgrade" was possible?

I seriously doubt that it is possible to upgrade the "system" module other than by changes that might be made as part of a core upgrade.

It is, however, perfectly possible to upgrade/enhance the standard admin interface. I'm sure someone will be along in a short while with a link

Hi,

oh, hmmm. Well, the 2.13version is from my other XOOPS site, which I've had a couple of years and haven't upgraded. The site I'm trying to cmodify is new.

Perhaps I don't actually need to do this? It's just my first site has a great admin area and I thought it was related to the system admin module. ???

Much more likely that it's an admin theme.... the Brasil crowd made a great one that has been adopted by another CMS.

Is your first site made with a 2.0.x version or 2.2.x?

Thanks guys. It was the admin theme mainly. But I confused myself with xoop versions, so I just did a full upgrade - all is well.
