Hi,

I've installed XOOPS 2.3.0 Alpha 1 and after installation, I get the ollowing eror when attempting to access the installed site:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/sites/XXXX.co.uk/public_html/demo/class/module.textsanitizer.php on line 38

Yep - this has been reported. See the comments associated with the news item. I had the same issue.

Please remember that this is the alpha version - hope you don't mind but I've edited your post title to reflect this.

For a production site please use the latest stable release, i.e. v2.0.18 available from the link on the homepage.

I'll test the next version when it comes out, though - it's one thing that all XOOPS users could do to help development

Hi,

I have no issues with the amendment.

I did perform a Search on the Forum, but couldnt find a match for the error, so apologies if I have submitted a previuusly identified issue.

This isn't for a productuon site, it's for an evaluation site, so I'll await an update.

Glad that you were okay with the amendment; better to be clear about these things for the benefit of all

Hope that you stick around, and welcome to XOOPS

Got same issue. I use host that has c-panel. I was able to go in and enable PHP5 and things worked like a charm after that.
