is it possible for two XOOPS installs to share the same db?

So I'll install php on two different domains but they share the same db?

thanks

Hi,

Yes, definitely.

Do a separate install for both and make sure the two installations use different table prefixes.

I know one guy who's running 8 websites from one db

actually i was thinking about using running two site with different looks from the same database data.

So a forum post to one would show-up in the other for example.

In theory, yes..... if both sites were exactly the same on the module front.

The only problem would be in achieving the "different look" since the templates are stored in the database and, more acutely, you set the theme in preferences and this is stored in the database too.

Might be possible with a hack of some kind?
