I have a site, installed several modules, and it's working fine. 2.0.16 I've tried to add more modules and I'm uploading them in the right place but none of them show up in the admin menu when I try to install them.

What could cause this?

Hi,

you may have module that requires an aditional component. Example is CBB that needs 'Frameworks' installed.

Try to enable PHP Debug and look for fatal errors and warnings when viewing modules in admin...

This also happens if you have them in an extra folder after unzipping them, i do it all the time and then sit there puzzled why it’s not showing....

Please provide a list of the modules that you have installed. As well as a list of the modules in your waiting list.

SmartFAQ
WiWi
Shoutbox
Document Management
Last News Block
wsProject
Forum NewBB 2.0

These above all work fine and I’ve double checked to see that all the other modules are in the same module directory yet none of them show up on the waiting list. They are

iContent
iMenu
info
mylinks
myquiz
news
news block
site map
wfdownloads
xhelp

Thank you all for your help. This is driving me crazy.

On the debug messages I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: phpdefine() in /home/content/s/u/p/superluminal5/html/jedi-sith-religion/modules/iMenu/language/english/modinfo.php on line 1

Shows above where the waiting list should show.

When running modules I also get:

QueriesSELECT * FROM x__config WHERE (conf_modid = '0' AND conf_catid = '1') ORDER BY conf_order ASCSELECT sess_data FROM x__session WHERE sess_id = '8ba5c2e63e734f45fe1ffbfda8ca4233'SELECT * FROM x__users WHERE uid=1SELECT * FROM x__modules WHERE dirname = 'system'SELECT * FROM x__group_permission WHERE (gperm_name = 'module_admin' AND gperm_modid = '1' AND (gperm_groupid = '1' OR gperm_groupid = '2'))

Hi,

I never saw "news block" module ...

One think you can do is - delete all modules that are not installed and upload them one by one to see where the problem will be - the problem module will not apear.

Also try phpdebug.

yeah, I would probabaly start with the imenu module.

You do not have to delete them. Just rename the Xoopsinfo.php to like 1xoopsinfo.php.

Do that one by one until the module list reappears.

The Force IS strong with you. As soon as I deleted iMenu they all appeared on the waiting list. I can't thank you enough and I also thank the rest of you who've helped. This is a fine community indeed.

What would cause this so I can understand for future reference. I'm just starting to learn php and SQL.

Thanks a million,

John
