Hello.
I would like to know, which modules xoops.org uses for their content stuff and for the forum.

Also I would like to compare the forums that can be used with xoops, is there a list that shows what forum has which features?

Thank you
Smo

xoops.org use "newbb" forum module. Is this enough for your question?

For the forum yes, thank you.

But it seems that you need a module for content too. Any idea of a list which modules xoops.org uses?

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.
I know the Modules Repository, but I don't see a list what modules are used to build a site like xoops.org? Especially for my question for content stuff I don't find an answer.

Hi,

I can't tell you what to use on your site because I don't know what you are hoping to use it for, but on my site I use:

for news:
News 1.53 (from Instant Zero - search on here for link))

for calendar/events
ExtCal 2.0.4 (from www.zoullou.net)

for content
SmartSection 2.13 (fromhttp://smartfactory.ca)

for user editable content/wiki
wiwimod 0.8.3 (search on here!)

for forums
CBB 3.08 (check out the Dev Forge)

for contacts
xyp4all 1.58 (search for it!)

for links
wflinks 1.03b (from McDonald's website - search for it)

I also use:

for website stats
istats2.2 (there was news item on here a few months ago)

for security
Protector 3.04 (from GIJoe - google search for "peak xoops")

for polls
xoopspoll 1.1 (links with CBB, might not be available anymore )

on trial behind the scenes
XM-Spotlight (installed but not used yet!)

When chosing modules I'd recommend going for those that are still supported and therefore likely to be upgraded for functionality and security.

HTH

When you visit the www.xoops.org site. Can you notice the Community at the top-left of some page?
The links under Community is modules that www.xoops.org used.

The modules used on this site are non-standard and not available for download to the public. They are custom hacks built from modules that were available a few years ago.

Quite honestly, most of them are so full of hacks and bugs that you wouldn't want them anyways.

Hell, this site is still running on 2.0.13.2. You wouldn't believe the amount of bubble gum and duct tape it takes to keep this P.O.S. together!
