I'm trying to settup XOOPS in a way that the footer shows a text banner. To accomplish this I have received (from the add company) 3 files that should be placed in site root. No problem here. I have no clue however to get this showing in the footer. One of the test if the files are setup correctly is by navigating to http://www.yourwebsite.com/display.php (in the FAQ) and that just works fine.
I'v tried to add to a block and set it at the bottom with php for the block but this doesn't work. I've tried editing the footer.php and see if I could get lucky but nothing showing after several tries.

What should I do to get this working?

You shouldn't be editing footer.php in the root of your XOOPS installation. That file is responsible for wrapping up the processing of the XOOPS environment and getting everything written to the screen.

Rather, what you want to do is edit the default theme (preferably, copy the default theme to a new theme and edit that instead). At the bottom of "\xoops\themes\default\theme.html" is a section devoted to the footer for every XOOPS output page. This is where you should put anything that you'd like to show up in your page's footer.

Also, if you don't see the new stuff show up right away, then you might try clearing out the "\xoops\tempaltes_c" folder, which contains cache data for your various pages.

You helped me a lot! Only problem is that I got it working on a test site with the default theme but can't get it going with the time I use (bubblegum) but at least I know where to look.
