A User has installed the CBB 3.08, now he has a big probem with SPAM in the backend:

All guests can write here! (Arrive at present over 100 pieces on the day at backend.) For this reason will the forum MUCH SLOW and the web page becomes slow-acting.

All entries can be seen here:

Is there a temporary solution? Thanks and greetings, René

Yes!!

Go to Admin>Forums and click on "Preferences".

About half-way down the options is "Report a Post". Turn it off. That will stop it.

Hello John,

It was already switched off, but nevertheless one can use that.

Turning it off stopped it on my site...... well, that and setting Protector 3.0x "anti-SPAM: URLs for guests" to a setting of "3"

I do get the occsional attempt at spamming via the module's report.php but Protector catches those. I'm assuming that all to these are by "bots" as turning off the "Report a Post" hides the "Report" button.

Is there a bugtracker for the module? If, is the bugtracker also used?

Re: CBB 3.08 with a big BUG

the only temporary solution i have is . edit report.php and add what is in blue..

So.. The setting of enabling and disabling report a post will determine if the file can or can't be used.
include 'header.php';

[
color=0066FF]if($xoopsModuleConfig['reportmod_enabled']){[/color]
if ( isset(
$_POST['submit']) ) {
$GPC "_POST";
} else {
$GPC "_GET";

...
wayyy bottom

include XOOPS_ROOT_PATH.'/footer.php';
}
[
color=0066FF]}else{
redirect_header("index.php"2_NOPERM);
}
}[/
color]?>
