Simple machines forum aka Smf module or bridge troubleshooting.

Sorry for the double post but at this time I think the install of SMF needs it own thread.

Anyway here goes...

I cannot get this to work. I spent alot of the day going thru all the different info and settings with no luck. I went thru all the different settings by Orstio & BroHam three times on two installs of xoops, smf & the bridge.

The first install was Smf 1.1.3.zip with all the above.
The second was Smf 1.1.2.zip the forum works fine on both versions in stand alone mode on both installs but when XOOPS wraps it I get a blank page.

Settings inside smf bridge/module

/home/mysite/public_html/forums/

PHP version 4.4.2
MySQL version 4.1.22-standard

XOOPS 2.0.16.zip
Smf_1.1.2.zip
Smf bridge 1.1 beta 2.zip

Im stumped...

Have I missed something?

For the life of me I cannot get it to work.

When I rap the smf forum inside of the smf module/bridge it goes blank.

When I turn off the smf wrapper it go's straight to the forums.

I do have an error when trying to log into the smf block thru xoops.

Does anyone know what the developer Orstio above is asking here? This is what I have below but I dont see how they would have access to each other?

I have the same user account and password on both XOOPS and smf.

and

I set up my site with two seperate MySQL databases. One for XOOPS and one for Smf. Both databases share the same user in the MySQL account maintenance thru my cpanel.

How do I make sure they both have access to what and where would I do this?

I must say im confused...

Edit: Im updating this thread with all the different info I can find.

Yea I finally got the forum to appear inside of xoops.

I must have d/l a bad copy of the bridge. Northern put up his copy in the garage thread and I installed. Bingo it works.

The login block for smf still doesn't work right. I hope that will just be a config issue now. So now I need to go back thru all of brohams settings!

I also need to get smf themed as well. Smf is throwing off all the css in my XOOPS theme. It looks pretty bad.

as long as the admin username and password is the the same in bolth XOOPS and SMF, you shouldnt have a problem, and make sure you have the SMF login block active.
