How many "bots" do you think are on xoops.org at one time?

How many "bots" do you think are on xoops.org at one time?

Seriously people...

This is important to me and my sites.

I have alot of guest hanging around alot of my sites all the time.

I seen a post in another thread that suggested a very large number of bots here on xoops.

What do you think say over half the guests are just bots? lol...

Seriously what do you really think the real numbers are?

Break it down give me numbers people...

I see right now 292 guests and 5 members????

Is there anything that you know of as an experienced XOOPS user that can break it down.

Just curious

Food for thought...

you can count them...

go to the sidebar, click on more and if they are not viewing a page then they must be a bot. I see two on page one here. Four on page two. Then again some bots don't leave a footprint or a who's online imprint. And some of the no page display could be a second browser window of one viewers.

But that is a start.

Use bravenet or other type counter and you can get the ip and backtrack them.

Hey blue...

I stay on XOOPS on the front page all time not logged in.

I just hit refresh to see if I can help someone once in a while.

That is if I don't get logged out...

refresh doesn't show as another hit... you get one hit per browser open. Close the browser and come back and it is another hit.

I do think there is the possibility that all of the support sites combine to give us the total you see.
That is the way they do it on Joomla.... To bump the numbers.

In that event... bots wouldn't be showing up at all because google probably hits this at least 4 times a day.

This is an opinion... I can alway be wrong, I base this on other counters and the one on my XOOPS site.

Actually - I think those are the users viewing the home page. You can confirm this by going to the home page, clicking on the link for more... then find yourself in the list. You will find no page listed for yourself.

Skenow,

I just reread and checked it out...
You are right...

I stand corrected...

I haven't checked, but if davidl2's posts have been removed from threads involving technical and support issues with XOOPS - I am moving to Joomla today.

Xoops support is becoming a joke.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.
