Just a thought...

I have been around for a while now, and in my experience here I found that XOOPS moved much quicker before the 2.2 branch was ever thought of.

Would it make more sense to move backwards to move forward.

I would personally not mind killing off the sites that I have if it meant that XOOPS would actually evolve.

I have been using a lot of other cms's as of late and I gotta tell ya.

The difference is like bringing an Atari 2600 to a Wii party.

For those of you too young to know what Atari is, think pong.

IDK guys, I know that somewhere there is some team of you diligently discussing the future of xoops.

My question I guess is this, how hard would it be to devolve so that we can progress as a community.

Is it possible for 2.2 users to roll back, and then get themselves on the right path? IF not, oh well... it was just a thought.

The core development team has been discussing what to do about the 2.0/2.2/2.3 branches.

The roadmap hasn't been finalized yet, but I think the plan will be to merge the features from 2.2.x into 2.0.x or 2.3.x.

A way will be provided to "upgrade" from 2.2.x to the new version. (Since I use 2.2.x on a production site, that's important to me.)

I would vote for a 2.2.x like new XOOPS xersion

I'd like to have the Extended Profiles and the Administration Environment.

By the way, I (once more) invite Mith to join the core team.
