New users cannot register??

I proably should have made sure this worked before I proceeded with all the modules and stuff.

I was trying to test register a user and got an error saying could not register new user.

I have the preferences set to yes for new users.

I can manually register users through admin.

What should I do to fix this?

Worked fine for me in firefox 2.0.0.4

I have try to register just now. And I get the "Could not register new user" error too. Have you tried this in your PC?

so it is possibly because I am the admin and even though I logged out it has my IP?

Thanks for trying it out for me. That is a relief to know.

Hey it has nothing to do with your ip address...

You might be having a cookie problem. XOOPS works with cookies and you browser must be set to accept.

Also some firewalls will stop you from registering if not set up properly.

On another note. I just registered twice and I have moderator rank on both of them...

Another idea... When you went to test and register the second account did you use the same email address as admin?
