Here are a couple that don't have that "XOOPS boxy look".

One is my company and one is my church.

Wow nice work... the gear company is a very nice looking theme! I like the Church site as well.

Both are variations of the Kubrick flexible theme (turned into a 1000px fixed width).

xoops is indeed scalable..for those people who thinks XOOPS sucks..u better think again

p/s : I hope the new theme of the new xoops.org will not look like the standard XOOPS design
