I have been away from XOOPS for a while :(.

In the past I used iMenu so I could conveniently attach menu items and assign authorization to the various items. It does not appear to work with 2.0.16.

Is there an alternative or similar Module?

Regards,
RS

I checked up formalize and they have iMenu2.3_RC12

Unfortunately, it appears that this is incompatible with 2.0.16.

I uploaded it to my site, when I go into Administration/Modules ---> there is no iMenu module to install. It appears to be for the wrong version or I am doing something wrong. Other newer modules do appear and funciton.

Rs

multiMenu does not appear to do the same thing.

I am essentially looking for a simple module that can allow me to do the following:

1) Create a menu item caption/text
2) Create a link to the content of the item
3) Allow me to attach it to a menu (parent)
4) Allow me to select the authorized user levels for visibility
5) Allow me to select the order that the items appear.

That's it.

I don't seem to be able to do it with multiMenu, iMenu appears not to work at all in 2.0.16 (works great in 2.0.9).

:(

multiMenu can do this :

-create a block, containing various link (image or text), to various content (url).

you must use another module to create content (news, forum, video, other), then create a link to this content with multiMenu.

-you can create a standard link and his secondary link (many).
-select group rights access for each block, and each link in this block.
select the order of link (weight)

did you try it before write 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) ?

some of available menus :
http://xoops.valentinois.net/menus/index_us.html

and if you understand french language (mine), you can look this video :
http://valentinois.net/camtasia/multiMenu1.9/
this video presents basic usage of multiMenu, even without a high french language level, i think it's understandable

Hi,

I don't have a production site with 2.0.16, but have a test XAMPP with it (clean install). Just tested the iMenu 2.3_RC12 and it works ok. Try to enable PHP debug mode and look for errors.
Multi menu can do all that you want, but is little hard in the beginning - not very intuitive admin part for me

To be honest, I've never used iMenu so I can't comment about how tricky it is to use - but as Formulize has only just been updated, I'd be very surprised if it does have any compatibility issues with 2.0.16

I rather like Multimenu myself - particularly the option to have image based menus - but it doesn't mean to say that iMenu may suite you better.

Thanks all.

I got multiMenu to work fine for me. I had no luck with IMenu. I am using goDaddy as my provider and XOOPS self installs through their control panel.

RS.
