i'm currently looking at your website.
i tried to activate debug mode and change default theme name (to default) with phpmyadmin.
changes are made but no more good results for the moment.
i'm looking for strange things on your ftp server.
back in few minutes.

Make sure you have the default theme installed and it is unaltered, then got to phpMyAdmin and perform the following queries. You'll need to change to the prefix you gave your XOOPS tables at install.

-- Reset your theme to the default
UPDATE `_configSET `conf_value` = 'default' WHERE `conf_name` = 'theme_set';
--
Reset your template set to the default
UPDATE `_configSET `conf_value` = 'default' WHERE `conf_name` = 'template_set';
--
Turn on Debug. Try or 3. 1 is for debug (inline). 3 is for Smarty Debug.
UPDATE `_configSET `conf_value` = '1' WHERE `conf_name` = 'debug_mode';

This will reset your theme and template set to default and will turn on 1 of the 2 main debug options.

By the sounds of things, you've got a SMARTY error, so I would try debug mode 3.

EDIT: It took 5 min for this post to show up. Looks like Blueteen is taking care of you.

already done, but nothing change.

>toddherrold : which xoops's version is used ?
i'll try to re-upload a default theme.

allow_register is set to 1 (yes), but (as already said), we can see this message :
Quote:

Sorry, we are currently closed for new user registrations

strange.

which is the last functional backup (sql) available ?
i think we'll do better to try a reinstall on another folder/database (local install)

Thanks all for your help. I'm using XOOPS 2.0.16.

The webhost tried to reload the database/site from the weekly backup (about 6 days prior to the crash). . It resulted in the same thing. So, I don't know if that site was already having issue then, or if this is a signal that it is something with the server and not xoops?

I have to check if they have more than just this backup.

Yes, those are probably the backups the host did before trying to reinstate an earlier backup. Will be very interested to know whether you can get it working on your LAN.

Thanks so much for your help. This is like a detective mystery.

I restored your backup (23 and 24 april) locally (with fresh XOOPS 2.0.16 files).
blank page too.
it seems that it is related to the database.
I continue my search.

some news :
I change 6 tables : config, configcategory, configoption, tplfile, tplset, tplsource (export from fresh install)

with these changes, i can access your website locally. (auctions, top dog, recent dacshund comments and more).

i'm going to test these changes again, but 1 table at once.
i think there a problem with templates into the database.
back soon.
