Dear all,

I would like to develop new modules, but I dont' know where to start. I am a c++, c#,java developer, but I feel lost in the XOOPS framework. Unfortunatly the documantation is very poor.
Please give me some directions.

I used Mambo for 2 years and created a lot of module for it, but I like XOOPS more. Once you learn XOOPS you can do much better than on Mambo/Joomla or Drupal.

Thanks,

Igor

This isn't really the place to start but it is where I am headed because I have the same goal. Programing is my interest. As long as I can read, understand and c/p code I am happy.

This is where we are going to attempt to create a new module using the instructions contained within the document ModuleBuilding.html

If you're familiar with PHP, it might also do you well to study the PHP Crossreference of the latest stable Core.

Thank you, Skenow....

That is the documented ModuleBuilder that we are going to work from. I have copied the html version and we will try to follow it and update the pages as necessary.

Some others might like to join me... For those of us who enjoy programing this should be a nice challenge.

@cigsmh: I've have the place and the html, you bring the c's and the java... and we can party. Madfish said he would drop by and we will go fishing for code... (not cod)

Send me a pm after you register and we will go from there.
That goes for anyone interested in code and module building.
