I am currently building an Intranet site for my company, hosted locally, and would like to be able to share company documents(mainly MS Office), but give users the ability to edit these.

For example a Sales Spreadsheet, that can be updated by the various departments.

I have tried a few modules and methods, but can only see a way to download, but not edit the live version.

Can someone please suggest a module, or method, for this?

Do you mean you want to be able to edit the documents online, as opposed to a download-document/edit-locally/upload-revised-document process?

I don't know of any XOOPS modules that can do that, but then I'm not familiar with that many modules.

MS has their Sharepoint product, which I think is intended for that purpose.

My guess is you'd need a PHP extension which can read and write the relevant documents. I don't know if that exists.

That probably explains why no one responded in the past.
