The installation went smooth and trouble free. It all looks like it is ready to use but in FireFox this message comes up:
The requested URL /xoops-2.0.16/htdocs/modules/system/templates/blocks/<{$xoops_url}>/user.php was not found on this server.

It looks to me like the /xoops-2.0.16/ is the problem.
go here and look at the directory structures as I have laid them out in my sample... You probably will need to reinstall

http://upnrunnin.hypermart.net/xoops01/

No periods or spaces in any directory names allowed.
clicking the thumbnails will show you a screen capture of what my desktop looked like during the drag and drop procedure of installing.

After going to the link above, click on the manual link on my page and look at Skenow's day two in particular.

I have put mine in a subdirectory called /xoops01/ on the one I am setting up but you should just go from the root
http://www.vianaut.com/ xoops-2.0.16/htdocs/index.php OR make a subdirectory like I did and name it whatever you wish.

Copy your files and folders directly into the vianaut.com/ or the subdirectory.

Read Skenow's manual and I'm sure you will be upnrunnin in no time at all.
