A list of modulesThis is a list of available XOOPS modules. Here you can see for which module we still need good descriptions and also why one or another module might not be added to the new module repository (yet).
This list is far from complete and just the beginning so please post all further modules you know of in this thread (including links).
1. Rejected due to non-final statusOnly files in final status will be added to the repository. This means you might find more up-to-date versions listed here but remember they are alpha, beta, rc or in whatever status hence might not be recommend for production systems.
(A lot of us might have worked with betas luckily for years on some modules but basicly an author should release a final once he found it working ... and that should not be 3 years later )2. Rejected due to files missingBeginning with the new repository not only the descriptions should be enhanced but the rules for submission will also make some files mandatory for addons to be added to the repository. Those files donĀ“t have to be perfect but a minimum of this information needs to be present:
-
readme: basic information about the module
-
installation notes: this could of course also be in the readme instead of a seperate file
-
license file: as most modules are released under the gnu gpl license this could for example be this one:
GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Explanation of sidenotesAlso you find some sidenotes here. These will only refer to issues seen along the way and are not mandatory to fix for inclusion. These are basicly just some notes for the author and whether he want to do something about this or not is up to him.

Eclipse projectfile: found an eclipse development file inside the archive. Does not hurt but does not belong there either since its not part of the module
-
thumbs.db: one of Microsoft worst ideas ever. Thumbs.db contain miniature images used when you view a folder in Image view mode. MS is cluttering those files all over your system as hidden files so naturally they often end up in packages too.

filename xoops2_...: In the past a standard filename for XOOPS files established itself which consisted of XOOPS major revision, filetype, module/themename and version. We are going to use this also for the files we mirror on sourceforge.net. So we would ask authors to use this. Again this is nothing we can nor want to really enforce on people but it makes sense and many already do.

____.ext could be for the module memberstats:
xoops2_mod_xmmemberstats_2.0c_smd.zip)
