I keep getting my news section spammed. I thought that I'd turned off anonymous posting last time, but when I checked, it's back on and I have a ton of posts.

Is there a way to delete multiple posts at once so I don't have to do it one by one?

I thought I had protection on the site - is it possible for folks to hack into the admin menu to change my options so they can spam again?

On a side note, I'm getting the warning that mainfile.php is writable in unix and I can't seem to turn that off. I take it off, apply it, look at it again and it's writable. Could this mean something is hacked?

Xoops has been great for me because it's been so easy to setup and use, but I'm spending more time removing spam posts these days than enjoying the site. It's such a shame. At this rate, spammers will remove all the casual web folks from participation.
