Change the color of that top banner?

You know when you login or log out, there is that top, most of the time gray, banner? I was editing my theme (the default) and I changed the color of the text to white. I have to have it at white. How do you change the color of that banner? I'll post my style.css here:

The Banners are set if on or off in XOOPS main prefrences and can be uploaded from the Banners controls.
Then Banners can then get displayed in the XOOPS theme at the top, is that what you are meaning or apart of the theme?
If a part of the theme and you need to find odd CSS, I find using Web-Developer plug-in for Friefox useful, as it can show you where all the CSS is, while you are viewing the page, with Tag's next to each word, where the CSS comes from.

It sounds like you are trying to change the system_redirect template - look for it in modules/system/templates/. It has inline styling that is not the the theme style.css

I think skenow got what I was talking about. I edited the file, but it is still giving me the grey background!

I changed it to:

Since this is a template file, after you make changes to it you need to clear the templates_c directory, leaving the index.html
