Hi,

I want to start a new XOOPS site.
My host has got XOOPS autoinstall with Fantasticoi available but this is still version 2.0.14.
Should I take this option or should i go for a newer version and if so: wich one is the best version available now?

Txs for your reactions!

Edwin

2.0.16 is the best version to use.
If you've installed 2.0.14 - then please see the release notes for updating from this release.

Get your host to update their cPanel. 2.0.16 is available on Fantastico.

Cheers.

I don't mean to come across as an extremist here, but NEVER install a CMS from cPanel! By a large margin, the majority of the sites I've had to recover from a hacking were installed using automated scripts, like Fantastico.

XOOPS is by far one of the easiest CMSs to install manually and there is documentation included with the release that explains, step by step, how to install to XOOPS.

Manually installing XOOPS is by far the best method because you can be assured that you are getting the most up to date code available, and that you are following the recommended procedures.
