RSS wont stop working in CBB 3.0.5

Yeah, I know I need to upgrade but I would like a quick fix first.

I have clicked on "No" so that RSS is disabled in CBB but for some strange reason the RSS icon appears in my address bar in my browser. Also, if I put it into my bookmarks I can clearly see that the RSS feed is still working and listing the posts.

How do I get rid of the RSS icon in the address bar so that no-one clicks on it or how can I stop the RSS feed?

When you enable RSS in CBB, you get (RSS) links after each topic. I do not see them on your site. I do, however, see a link to feedburner at the bottom of your page - perhaps that is why you are experiencing what you describe?

The feedburner link would not cause this as its just a link.

But if you look at the address bar while in the forum, in firefox, and click on the bookmark icon (the orange thingy) it will give you two RSS bookmarks, My feedburner one which I want in there and was deleberately placed there in my theme.html and there is the forum one aswell.

I want to be able to get rid of this one.

If you look at the source code you will see the RSS link to the forum RSS feed, which shouldnt be there. this is why the forums RSS bookmark is in the address bar.

Its annoying.

SOLVED

had to delete the following line from CBB's header.php

$newbb_module_header .= '.$xoopsModule->getVar('name').'" href="'.XOOPS_URL.'/modules/'.$xoopsModule->getVar('dirname').'/rss.php" />';


Which is kinda unfortunate. I shouldnt have to hack into the header.php to have it turned off.

Turning off RSS in CBB only made the RSS links in the forum disapear. It didnt actually turn RSS off.

I have just installed 3.0.8 on my test site and guess what, it still happens.
