How do I add an avatar on these forums? Feeling a bit stupid here.

On the left side of the screen click "View Account", then click the "Avatar" button at the top of the screen that comes up.

I did that. There is a list with Face-001, Face-002... etc. None of them have pictures and if I select one, it doesn't change anything. It seems that some users have managed to upload a personal avatar.

Yes but if you look at those users registration date...

Avatars will be back when the new site goes live.
